Colourful cottage in Sweden. The colours of the house are all very bright, yet work together to make this peaceful harmony. Even the wood seems to jump out to the eye. The white of the house acts as the the mediator, allowing no one colour to overpower the others. As for the cabin’s form, it is very traditional scandinavian in shape and modesty. The exterior places preconceptions about what the inside will look like, white with black trim. Then the interior shocks you with the aqua and orange colours. The wooden floor and the concrete floor separate the kitchen and bathrooms from the living areas. While concrete is generally a cold material and I think it illogical when used in a house, it is interesting to see it used as a bench, faucet, and a sink. While using an old form, the cottage is made contemporary by its, modern details.
